Students of the month: Jessica,
Charles, Princess, and Michael
Star Student: T'von Cole - T'von
took a short sabbatical. She returned a
month or so ago, and moved quickly to the
John Thompson First Grade book. She
will be playing from that book for the
recital. Congratulations T'von on a job well
done.
What should each student be
encouraged to do over the summer?
Pull out all your old books. Select your
favorite songs and play them over and
over. Then look over all the theory,
technique and other musical notations that
you have learned. Practice playing other
songs from other materials that you may
have. Always do finger exercises.
PS - Parents, please give this message
to your child/children and let them read it
for themselves.

| A Word of Thanks |
 |
|
May the Lord continue
to make you fruitful
and encourage you in all your work for
Him. A tree is identified by the kind of fruit
it produce...Luke 6:44 TLB
...I will bless you and you will be a
blessing to many other. Genesis 12:2
Scriptures are so good. They say
everything that we want to say and
sometimes don't know how, or can't find
the right words. There are many cards that
I could buy and send to each of you to
say "thank you". As good as they are, and
as nice as they sound, none is better than
the Word of God and my own words. So,
thank you parents for being fruit bearers
before your children. Thank you children
and youths for being a blessing to me for
the past year(s) Every time we meet for a
lesson, I see more and more of who God
is. Thank you again for sharing the past
year. I look forward to your return. Be
blessed!

| Piano Care For New Piano Owners |
 |
|
By Margot Hamilton
Congratulations, you have just acquired a
wonderful new
addition for your home! This new addition
will not only add
beauty to your home, but will also bring
musical pleasure to you
and your family. Now that you have your
new piano, you will want
to make sure that you are caring for it
properly. Caring for
your piano properly will not only ensure that
it plays to its
maximum potential, but will also ensure
that the value is
maintained and, in the case of a new
piano, that your warranty
is maintained. In this article, I will outline
some tips on
caring for your piano, including how often
you should have your
piano tuned, how to help maintain your
piano's tuning stability,
and how to safely clean and care for the
exterior of your piano.
I will also define piano tuning, and explain
why it is necessary
for your piano.
What is a piano tuning and why is it
necessary?
There are over 200 strings in your piano,
which are stretched
at high tension across the frame of your
piano. When a piano
technician performs a piano tuning, he or
she carefully adjusts
the tension of each of the strings in the
piano in order to
ensure they not only sound in harmony with
each other, but that
they are also playing in standard pitch
(when A sounds at 440
Hz).

A Word from Bonnie |
|
|
|
I had the opportunity to visit Ecuador last
month. What a humbling experience. I
was reminded of my childhood growing up
on the farm.
God is so good to all of us. He has
blessed us with so much stuff. In America,
most of us don't think twice about getting
up in the morning and taking a hot shower.
We even struggle with what we want to eat
because we have so many choices. We
have wonderful appliances at our finger
tips. This was not the case in
Riobamba,
Ecuador. Each morning that I awakened, I
thanked God for the cold shower. I
thanked God for the bread, juice and tea
that I had for breakfast everyday. I thanked
God for the money He provided for me to
help the family that opened their doors for
me to have a place to stay. I encourage
each of you to be more thankful to God for
where you are today. He really is a good
God. He takes care of everybody all over
the world. It's not about us, or our
circumstance, but it is all about Him.
Thank you Father, Son and Holy Spirit!
